StacPay Intellectual Property Policy
This Intellectual Property Policy ("Policy") is designed to protect StacPay's branding, design, software, and user-generated content while ensuring fair use and compliance with applicable laws. This Policy applies to all users, merchants, and stakeholders engaging with the StacPay platform.
1. Ownership of StacPay's Intellectual Property
1.1 Proprietary Rights
- Trademarks, logos, brand names, and slogans
- Website, mobile application, and user interfaces
- Software code, APIs, algorithms, and databases
- Visual designs, marketing materials, and proprietary technologies
These are exclusively owned by StacPay Technologies Ltd. and protected under applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
1.2 Unauthorized Use
- Users may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works without permission.
- Reverse engineering, decompilation, or tampering is strictly prohibited and will face legal action.
1.3 Licensing
Limited use of StacPay's assets (e.g., logos) may be granted to merchants under explicit written agreements and must follow StacPay's Brand Guidelines.
2. User-Generated Content (UGC)
2.1 Ownership of UGC
Users retain ownership of content they generate (e.g., reviews, uploads) but grant StacPay a non-exclusive, royalty-free, global license to use it within the service.
2.2 Content Standards
- No fraudulent, misleading, or defamatory content
- No offensive or inappropriate images
- No content violating third-party intellectual property
2.3 Moderation
StacPay reserves the right to remove or moderate content that violates this Policy without notice.
3. Branding and Design
3.1 Trademark Protection
StacPay's brand elements may only be used with written consent and in accordance with brand guidelines.
3.2 Visual and UI Design
All visual and interface elements are proprietary and may not be replicated on other platforms or materials.
4. Software and Systems
4.1 Software Rights
StacPay retains full ownership of its codebase and backend systems. Unauthorized access or tampering is forbidden.
4.2 Updates and Modifications
StacPay may update its software at any time to maintain security, functionality, or compliance.
5. Intellectual Property Infringement
5.1 Reporting Violations
To report violations, contact legal@stacpay.com. Investigations will follow.
5.2 Remedies for Violations
- Legal action including injunctions and damages
- Termination of platform access for repeated offenses
6. Dispute Resolution
All disputes will be resolved per StacPay's Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Policy under Nigerian law.
7. Amendments
StacPay may update this Policy periodically. Users will be informed via email or platform announcements.
